Your sign is often the first thing a customer sees, and sometimes the only reason they walk in. At NearPrint we design and make signboards for shops, offices, restaurants, clinics, malls and building sites across Dubai and the UAE. That covers everything from illuminated 3D letters and LED neon to light boxes, wayfinding and safety signs. Tell us where the sign is going and we’ll help you get it right.

Signs That Work as Hard as You Do

A good sign does three jobs at once. It tells people you’re there, tells them what you do, and makes them trust you before they’ve walked through the door. In a city as busy as Dubai, where every street and mall corridor competes for attention, a tired or badly lit sign quietly costs you customers every day.

We handle the whole job in one place. We start by understanding your space and your brand, then show you a clear design and pick materials that cope with the UAE heat. We make the sign and fit it properly, so you don’t have to juggle a designer, a fabricator and an installer.

  • Design

Layouts and mock-ups so you can see the sign on your wall before it’s made.

  • Fabrication

Letters, boxes and panels built in the right material for indoors or out.

  • Installation

Fitted level, secure and wired safely, anywhere in the UAE.

Types of Signage We Make

Business Signage

The signs that tell people who you are and where to find you, from 3D letters on the fascia to pylons by the road.

Signage Materials & Lighting Options

The material decides how the sign looks and how long it lasts. The lighting decides whether people notice it after 6pm, which in Dubai is when a lot of shopping happens.

Lighting styles

Not sure which to choose? Here’s the quick version.

  • Front litThe face of each letter glows. Bright and easy to read from far away.
  • Halo litLight shines onto the wall behind the letters. Subtle and premium.
  • Back litA light box or panel lit from inside. Even glow, great for logos and menus.
  • LED neonThe classic neon look, but safer, tougher and cheaper to run.

Acrylic

Glossy, colourful and lightweight. Great for lit letters and receptions.

ACP (Aluminium Composite)

Flat, rigid and weatherproof. The go-to for shopfront panels.

Stainless Steel

Brushed, mirror or gold-coated. Won’t rust and always looks sharp.

Aluminium

Light and strong, ideal for large outdoor letters.

Brass & Copper

Warm, classic metals for heritage and luxury brands.

Wood

Natural and welcoming for cafés, boutiques and homes.

Forex / PVC

Budget-friendly and easy to cut into any shape for interiors.

Vinyl & Films

Graphics, frosting and privacy films for glass and walls.

How to Choose the Right Sign for Your Business in Dubai

Choosing a sign can feel overwhelming when there are dozens of materials and lighting styles. These are the questions we go through with almost every customer, and answering them first saves time and money.

Where will people see it from?

A sign read from across Sheikh Zayed Road has very different needs from one read three metres away in a mall. Think about distance, viewing angle and what else is around it. As a rough rule, letters need to be larger the further away your customers are, and bold, simple fonts always read better than thin or decorative ones.

Does it need to light up?

If you’re open in the evening, the answer is almost always yes. Front-lit letters are the brightest and easiest to read. Halo-lit letters feel more upmarket. Light boxes are the most affordable way to light a large logo, and LED neon adds personality inside cafés and shops.

Pick materials that suit the UAE climate

Summer heat, strong UV and dust are hard on signs. For outdoor work we recommend stainless steel, aluminium and ACP, with UV-stable acrylic faces and sealed LED modules. Cheaper plastics can fade or warp within a season, which usually costs more in the long run.

Check approvals early

Outdoor signs in Dubai, and signs facing the street, usually need approval before they go up. Malls and many free zones and communities have their own signage guidelines too, covering sizes, colours and lighting. Ask your landlord or mall management for their signage criteria early. We’ll design within those rules and prepare the drawings you need.

Keep it consistent

Your shopfront sign, reception logo, door plates and window graphics should look like they belong to the same brand. We can handle the full set, along with printed items like business cards and shopping bags, so everything matches. You can see all our other services on the services page.

Signage FAQs

How much does a signboard cost in Dubai?

It depends on the size, material, lighting and how hard it is to install. A small acrylic office sign costs far less than illuminated 3D letters on a building fascia. Send us a photo of the space, rough sizes and your logo, and we will give you a clear quote with a few options at different budgets.

Do I need a permit for a shop sign in Dubai?

Usually, yes. Outdoor signs and signs facing the street normally need approval before installation, and malls, free zones and many communities have their own signage rules as well. Check your landlord or mall signage criteria early. We design within those rules and can prepare the drawings needed for your application.

How long does it take to make a sign?

Simple printed, vinyl and acrylic signs can be ready within a few working days. Fabricated and illuminated 3D letters, pylons and large projects take longer because of cutting, wiring and finishing. We confirm the timeline with your quote, and it helps to tell us your opening date up front.

Do you install the signs as well?

Yes. We deliver and install across Dubai and the rest of the UAE, including wiring for illuminated signs. For shopfronts we can often install outside your busy hours to avoid disruption.

Which signage material lasts best in the UAE heat?

For outdoor signs we recommend stainless steel, aluminium and ACP, with UV-stable acrylic faces and sealed LED modules. These handle heat, sun and dust far better than cheaper plastics, which can fade or warp.

What is the difference between front-lit, back-lit and halo-lit signs?

Front-lit letters glow through the face and are the brightest option. Back-lit signs, such as light boxes, glow evenly from inside a panel. Halo-lit letters shine light onto the wall behind them, creating a soft outline that looks premium.

Is LED neon better than traditional glass neon?

For most businesses, yes. LED neon gives the same look but uses less power, stays cool to the touch, is much harder to break and is cheaper to maintain. It is also easier to shape into logos and lettering.

Can you make a sign from my logo?

Of course. Send your logo as a vector file (AI, EPS or PDF) if you have one. If not, our design team can redraw it and show you a mock-up before anything is made.

Do you make signage for malls and shopping centres?

Yes. Malls have strict design criteria covering size, lighting and materials. Share your mall signage guidelines with us and we will design and build to match them.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Business Bay and work all over Dubai, plus Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
